About Us
LUX Hair Studio was founded in 2008 when owner Francine Thompson relocated her established clientele from Kingston to Saugerties to bring her vision of an elevated, education-driven salon to life. After meeting with AVEDA representatives, Francine secured a partnership built on refined technique and high-performance hair care.—marking the official beginning of LUX.
A respected leader in the Hudson Valley beauty industry, Francine brings over 25 years of experience and advanced training with renowned brands including Bumble and Bumble, Paul Mitchell, Rusk, and AVEDA. Today, she works behind the chair one day per week, while dedicating the majority of her time to Elite Salon Leadership, her online education platform, and to mentoring, supporting, and developing the talented team at LUX.
You’ll often find Francine throughout the salon offering guidance, education, and encouragement to both staff and guests. LUX is not only her professional home—it’s her passion, her purpose, and a space where every person is truly welcomed.

LUX began in 2008 when owner Francine Thompson moved her already established clientele from Kingston to Saugerties to fulfill her dream of heading her own hair company. After meeting with AVEDA representatives she was able to convince them to partner with her vision to bring quality styling and color products along with cutting edge hair care to the area. And so LUX was born. Francine is a veteran in the Hudson Valley hair world and brings 25 years of experience and training with brands that include Bumble and Bumble, Paul Mitchel, Rusk and of course AVEDA. Now retired from behind the chair she divides her time between her online education platform, Elite Salon Leadership, and supporting and training the talented LUX stylists. You will find her fluttering around offering advice, education and encouragement to both staff and clients. This is her home, her happy place and everyone is her guest!
