Our philosophy at LUX begins with offering our guests a level of service that is sure to have them coming back for more. Start your LUX experience with a beverage followed by a complimentary Signature AVEDA Sensory Ritual. These include our scalp treatment and hand treatment . After you have settled in you will be shown to one of our talented stylists. At LUX we operate on a tiered system based on our stylists experience and education. The price and time allowed for your service depends on which stylist you prefer to see.
LUX is an education based salon so you can be assured that you will receive the highest level of service even from our beginner staff. But our education does not stop with our staff! We are committed to educating you, our guests, about your specific hair needs. We will show you specialized styling techniques for your unique texture and desired style. We will also recommend the right products to make your styles come out right every time! We firmly believe that if you look good then we look good. About Us
LUX HISTORY
LUX began in 2008 when owner Francine moved her already established clientele from Kingston to Saugerties to fulfill her dream of heading her own hair company. After meeting with AVEDA representatives she was able to convince them to partner with her vision to bring quality styling and color products along with cutting edge hair care to the area. And so LUX was born. Francine is a veteran in the Hudson Valley hair world and brings to her guests 22 years of experience and training with brands that include Bumble and Bumble, Paul Mitchel, Rusk and of course AVEDA. The biggest point of difference that a client in her chair will see is her personal approach to hair care. She takes lifestyle and personality into consideration as she tailors her services to her guests unique needs. When you are in her chair she is always educating you, the guest, as well as the stylists around her so that you receive the best care and consistent service from every employee you encounter at LUX.

As the old saying goes “timing is everything”. And for the village of Saugerties and the surrounding areas the timing couldn’t have been any better to welcome a high end, quality salon to town. The community welcomed LUX with open arms and business grew fast. To Francine’s pleasant surprise there was more business than she could handle and so came the decision to hire employees. The question was how to hire a staff that achieves the high standard that the patrons of LUX were accustomed to and yet allow the liberties that come along with the creative spirit that is in all hair stylists.
And this is where LUX founded the education based mentorship program that they use today. This program utilizes every staff member from the beginner to the most experienced to encourage and teach each other about full service hair care and make-up. Everyone at LUX works truly as a team. They are a tight knit group that feels more like a family than a group of co-workers and when you are there you will feel like family too!

Miranda
I started at Lux in 2018. I grew up in Saugerties & graduated from Saugerties High School in 2017. In my Junior year of high school I started the Ulster Boces Cosmetology program, and graduated while being on the National Technical Honors Society program. When I started at Lux, I was Francine’s assistant for 3 years. Which was one of the best experiences being able to learn first hand on what goes on in a salon and build my confidence. After the pandemic I started to take my own clients. My clientele has grown tremendously since the pandemic and I will forever be grateful for that.

Ancolie
Creative, versatile, and passionate about her craft, Ancolie has been making brides look and feel their best over the past 7 years. She has always had a passion for beauty and received a Bachelors in Fashion Merchandising in 2009. Her career in hair and make-up began in 2010 with her first salon position in Kingston, NY. It was there where she realized her passion for event styling when she was asked to fill in for a co-worker and style a bridesmaid. She went on to do hair and make-up for well-known events such as MTV’s “Winter Break” and Victoria’s Secret Braid Bar. Ancolie began styling brides in Woodstock, NY in 2015 and has been doing so ever since. From the most natural bride to full on glam, Ancolie has mastered the make-up techniques to deliver any look. Her thoughtfully crafted bridal hair styles display her ingenuity and creativity. With the utmost attention to detail and education on the latest trends, Ancolie is sure to make any bride look their best on the one day it matters most.
Jewels
Jewels has loved fashion, art and beauty from a young age. After being behind the chair for 15 years as a Master Stylist, she has spent the last 2 years focusing on her love of working with Brides on their special day. She loves creating the perfect style.
Heather
To say I’m passionate about hair, is an understatement. I am a 4th generation Saugertisian, born into a family of generational hairdressers. For as long as I can remember, hairdressing has been a part of my life. From watching everyone in my family come to my house to get haircuts as a child, to eventually working in a salon since age 15, you might say hair has been everywhere throughout my life.
I have worked across the Hudson Valley during my hairdressing career and I am beyond grateful to have made it back to Lux.
As a 29 year hairdressing veteran and certified reiki master, I strive to create a positive energetic exchange and infusion of confidence to everyone that sits in my chair. For me, relationships are everything. I love that I am there to be a small part of all my client’s most important days.

Julia
Since she was young, Julia has always had a passion for hair and beauty. She attended Ulster County BOCES from 2017-2019, and received her license in January 2020. She has been working as an assistant, as well as behind the chair, and loves to do both. What makes Julia excited about the industry is the ability to connect with people, and to make her clients feel like the best version of themselves. Julia has been going to Maine every summer since she was young, and it is her favorite place to visit, although one of her goals is to travel as much as she can. Julia loves working at LUX because of her amazing coworkers, the beautiful atmosphere and of course, the clients who make each day so fun!
